EAU CLAIRE, Wisconsin (WEAU) – Star Wars: The Nostalgia Awakens is a traveling exhibition by Jarrod Roll. He is a Star Wars enthusiast and museum curator in Onalaska Wisconsin. Roll’s collection traveled to Minnesota, Illinois and Wisconsin. Now he has made a stop at the Chippewa Valley Museum in Eau Claire.

Carrie Ronnander is Museum Director and Curator of the Chippewa Valley Museum. She says the exhibition was scheduled to take place last year but has been postponed due to the pandemic.

Ronnander says being able to finally set up the exhibit is like a breath of fresh air.

“I’m personally thrilled, but I’m also thrilled that the museum can bring something really engaging for many different ages to this space,” said Ronnander. “Just bring the community together and have something really light and fun.”

The collection includes all 1978 thru 1985 action figures made by Kenner Manufacturing. It is 100 figurines.

A variety of Star Wars playsets, vehicles, and more are also featured. A compilation of Star War commercials from this era can also be viewed.

Ronnader says it’s special to have an exhibit like this in the area.

“As a regional history museum, you don’t have access to these successful exhibits and we don’t usually have the space here or the funds,” Ronnander said. “So being able to bring something to Eau Claire and outside of the big city makes it a unique and special experience for everyone here.”

Bring together people of all ages.

“This is also the aim of the museum. For several generations to come together and share their experiences and connect with the community and connect with each other, ”said Ronnader.

Strengthening the force in the Chippewa Valley.

The collection can be viewed until December 31 at the Chippewa Valley Museum.

On select Thursdays and Saturdays throughout the duration of the exhibit, fun family activities will be offered in the museum-style LEGO building, robotics demonstrations and Star Wars cookie decorating. On December 7th, Jarrod Roll will make a virtual presentation. To learn more, click here.
