Petroleum Museum to host Children’s Day and Educators’ Day on September 3 – The Gilmer Mirror

The Kilgore College East Texas Oil Museum will host Children’s Day and Educators’ Day on Saturday, September 3.

On this day, children 12 and under will be admitted free from 10 a.m. to noon. Educators with proper ID (plus one guest) can visit the museum with no admission charge all day.

Kids’ Day will include scavenger hunts, photos with Rangers mascots Ace and Hannah, and Charlie’s Sno-Balls.

There will also be science demonstrations, a story hour – reading “Bluebonnet the Armadillo at the East Texas Oil Museum” – and door prizes including a family membership (value of $100), two $25 gift cards for the museum shop and more.

Door prizes will be drawn at 11:30 a.m.

Museum hours are Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
