The Mattapoisett Museum will host a series of events in November.
Discovery Days, a new program for people with dementia-related memory loss and their care partners, will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 4. During this hour-long program, individuals will make personal connections with artefacts, discussions, artistic and multisensory activities led by educators at the Mattapoisett Museum. This program is limited to 10 people with their care partners.
Southcoast Lessons presents New Sounds of Silents: Silent Films set to live music at 6 p.m. on Friday, November 5th. The program will feature silent short films on the theme of the fall holidays with several teams of artists supporting them. Three films, including excerpts from “Hot Water” and “The Freshman” by Harold Lloyd, will be screened. The event is free but places are limited.
Southcoast Lessons is hosting an open mic night at 6 p.m. on Friday, November 19. All ages and genders are welcome, participants can sing, play instruments, read a poem or share their talents.
The Reverend Lucia Jackson, minister of bridge at the Mattapoisett Congregational Church, will lead the annual church service at the museum at 3 p.m. on Sunday, November 21.
Southcoast Lessons presents Old Time Fiddle Session, a gathering of traditional string band musicians and music lovers, at 1 p.m. on Sunday, November 28. Anyone who plays is welcome to bring an instrument.
All events are free, but donations are always appreciated.
