New exhibition with realistic dinosaurs opens at the Bishop Museum

BRADENTON, Fla. (WFLA) – DinoVenture, a brand new exhibit, is located outside the Bishop Museum and will take visitors back in time with lifelike dinosaurs to see.

Around 30 animatronic dinosaurs are featured in the exhibit, including a roaring Tyrannosaurus Rex and a flashing Triceratops.

“We want to make sure people feel a sense of exploration and discovery while they’re here. On each dinosaur, they will find the name of the species, how to pronounce it, and also where in the world the dinosaurs lived, ”said Bishop Museum communications director Remi Gonzalez.

The dinosaurs in this exhibit were created by Don Lessem who was the dinosaur advisor in Steven Spielberg’s movie “Jurassic Park”.

Lessem will be speaking at the Bishop Museum on December 8 to dispel some of the myths of this film.

According to museum directors, DinoVenture was built in a matter of weeks. The new exhibition will be open from October 23 to March 18.

“The real thing we want people to remember is just a sense of wonder and to really feel how awesome it is because it’s really the closest to us to walk among the dinosaurs,” Gonzalez said.

You can find more information regarding tickets on the Bishop Museum website.
