Discovery Museum Diamond Exhibit Arrives at Baxter County LibraryOzark Radio News

MOUNTAIN HOUSE, AR – The Baxter County Library will host the Discovery Museum Diamond Exhibit from September 10 through November 26. The Diamond Exhibit is a 2,000 square foot Discovery Museum exhibit that takes visitors on a journey from “Rocks to Riches”. The exhibit experience includes rock and mineral samples, multimedia experiences, computer interactions, and large full-frame graphic panels.

The library will host a series of Diamond Days with guest speakers, family crafts and other activities for all ages. Celebrate Grandparents Day on Saturday, September 10, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and bring your little one (child or parent) to explore and learn together! Some of our fun activities include rock painting, a photo booth, diamond engravings and a diamond dig. At 10:30 a.m., Assistant State Geologist Angela Cranston will give a presentation on local geology. Plus, bring your favorite stone to have it identified!

On Tuesday, September 27, from 5:30-7:30 p.m., join us for a variety of fun activities including rock painting, diamond string art, and gemstone magnets., Also enjoy a presentation of the Crater of Diamonds State Park, followed by questions and answers.

On Saturday October 22, explore and learn by visiting the Diamonds exhibition with your family and friends. The library will feature fun activities including making pet rocks and egg carton geodes.

Bring the family on Saturday, November 19, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., for Minecraft Day. Minecraft-based activities like building, problem-solving, and a Minecraft costume contest!
